So many times we find ourselves in a position and ask ourselves how the heck did I get here. Learning to recognize the distractions that interfere with our success is pivotal. Yesterday was very difficult getting through the day and today was much better. Remember when you were a child you had hopes and dreams of the future and one day you look back and say wait what happened. This happens because we allow ourselves to get distracted by things in life. The car breaking down consumes us, we get married, have children and buy things we can’t afford. Now don’t get me wrong some of those things are not bad but if your dream was to become the Pope getting married was kind of a detour. I spoke earlier about visualizing what you want, this is so important because the more you are emotionally connected with the future you see the less and less distractions will get you. I am so focused on the vision of me at 130 pounds in purple leather riding gear and a purple bike that when the wafting smell of fresh pizza hit me I immediately squashed the very thought that it might taste good. I have never been my ideal weight so I found someone whom I identified with as a child, Candace Cameron (DJ Tanner from Full House). She was chunky and built just like me. Have you seen her lately?? She is GORGEOUS and I want to look just like her. I can do it too. Don’t fall into the trap of I can’t and allow yourself to get distracted.

Some days it doesn’t pay to get out of bed. It was a really difficult day today. And as I started to say “I should have stayed in bed” and “Some days it doesn’t pay to get out of bed.” I thought what a crappy attitude I have. It always pays to face the day and come out stronger in the end for it. I stated on track and even made it to the gym. I sit here and wonder how the world would be different if Walt Disney had woken up one morning and said to himself. “It just doesn’t pay to get out of bed this morning. Everyone says my plans are impossible and no one would come if I did build a theme park, whats the use” The world would be a very different place. Cartoons as we know them wouldn’t exist, even Japanese manga can be traced back to a man who watch Disney animation. Theme parks would be rusty dirty roller coasters and child actives while the parents just watched. In each one of us is a great man or woman clawing to get out, we just have to get out of bed and become them.

End of week one and on to day 8. I had the best pizza today. Wait before you yell at me that I cheated I didn’t. It was a low calorie English muffin with chicken sausage and spinach. It was great and made me feel like I was cheating. I also had a salad mixed with spinach and balsamic vinaigrette spray. I didn’t miss the ranch dressing!! If you know me that is huge. I was told by a Doctor and a Nutritionist that my tastes would change and I would start liking things I previously wouldn’t eat. It is great because it makes it easier to eat right.  This reminds me of a quote and I don’t know where I heard it. “You must begin to see yourself as the person you want to become.” As you visualize it you make the steps towards it. In motorcycle class they tell you “Look into the turn, look into the turn” and “If you look into the cone you will hit it” You have to visualize where you are going and you will get there. As I eat things that are healthy for me and Visualize myself and healthy and slim I make the choices and change my tastes to mach the person I want to become. This also extends into other areas of my life. Maybe if you remind me I’ll share my why for sharing healthy chocolate.

Exercise just wasn’t an option today in the normal sense of the word. I was a lobster. I burnt myself outside so badly yesterday the thought of my face getting warm made we want to crawl back in bed with the fan in my face. So I did what any dieter would do. I went to the mall armed with my pedometer. Air-conditioned walking space, got in my 10,000 and went home to spread more gel over the burn and sit in front of the fan. I successfully did nothing today. My face dose look lots better than it did yesterday not if my forehead would just stop heating up the room I would be good! Let that be a lesson to us all just because exercise is out of the option for the day look for other ways to get in 10000 steps or whatever your goal is. Even if that means walking at night when the fireball in the sky is down. In health forever!

Ever found yourself at a group function and thought “Am I supposed to be here?” I attended a future soldiers and families meeting and barbecue. And being surrounded by that many fit people re-strengthened my resolve to lose weight and look great on my officers arm. During this event I witnessed some great determination. One boy in particular was running on the track and trying his hardest. He looked tired, worn and most people would have stopped but he kept going even when alone. He kept going round and round. I commend him for his determination. If you want something bad enough you can have it with determination, dedication and hard work. He is going to make a great soldier with that kind of resolve. We would do well to remember this boy in out own life. When obstacles come our way to keep on running even if our run looks more like a labored walk. One foot in front of another to make it to our goal. If we visualize what we want and make it real in our minds, describe it in perfect detail we will achieve it and be less likely to quit. I visualize myself at 130lbs and the clothes I would wear and it helps me get through the days I dream about ranch dressing. A knee length red stretch knit Nemarie Gauzy Whisper dress from Nordstrom tastes so much better than ranch dressing.

Have you ever sat at work staring at your computer screen and thought ” My brain is leaking out my ears?” Well that was me today. Working in a Call Center means extended periods of time on your rear answering the same questions over and over. Today I finish my motorcycle visualization. In my future I am skinny and obviously wealthy enough of the purple motorcycle. Let me finish our bike ride.

You pull into the driveway, gracefully missing the Mercedes-Benz the company gives you, black of course. You open the garage and park your purple bike. Hanging your helmet and riding gear you grab the mail and head for your art studio. The studio has skylights to let in the natural light for perfect lighting the majority of the day and remote covers for lighting control. You have a whole wall of canvases ready to paint and buckets of paint, brushes and additives. You open the mail and yawn.  “Hmmm, another one of those pink checks from your Healthy Chocolate company guess I should probably cash that” Life couldn’t get any sweeter.

After a day of heavy exercise yesterday my body is sore. Some days seem difficult to work in exercise. Working in a call center makes it difficult to get in the amount of steps you need. I have started walking in place while I wash my hands and get things off the printer. As I stare at the treadmill and feel the ache in my legs I have to see my future to continue on today. Let me take you with me in my future, my goal that keeps me going when I don’t feel like it or want to fall into the “I am not worth it” trap. Close your eyes.

The wind blows through your hair. The open road beacons a drive just because you can and it makes you happy. You look great. Purple leather riding jacket with matching chaps snugly fit showing off a well-toned body. Your helmet matches your gear and proclaims your victory of losing over 80 pounds. You swing your leg over a purple motorcycle and as the engine rumbles though your bones the exhilaration hits as it has every other time you ride. You can feel the sun warming your face into your helmet and your ears are full of the powerful vehicle. You smell of the freshly cut grass from the lawn. You pull out and head towards the coast your new bikini in the storage compartment. It’s a great day!

Now you know what I think of when my ankles burn, my legs hurt and the only thing I want to do is watch TV Keep positive and focused. What keeps you going? Please feel free to share and comment.

Day 3 of the weight loss plan. You could so do this! Frozen raspberries in the shake are way good! Can’t wait to try bananas or Greek yogurt. I am still playing with different water proportions and fruits to find my favorite mixture. I am on a hunt for a single serving blender. The Target near me was sold out can you believe that?!?  Have you ever had that “I want to see my progress feeling”? We have been told to only weigh once a week to avoid discouragement or false since of security. It can’t be Monday soon enough! Saturday is the Future soldiers Barbecue and I get to go! What is better than a BBQ with friends and future friends? For those that don’t know my husband has been accepted into Officer Candidate School with the Army. As much as I will miss him it is also a blessing given to us. I know we are walking the right path.

If you know me at all you probably know I think in terms of stories and oddities. I am pretty random but at least it can be entertaining. We are now on the second day of the High-Antioxidant diet and the thing is hunger hasn’t been an issue.
